KidsCom Climate Change Message Board: Speak Out!

In the news - January 5, 2009

Buildings in New York City are installing small wind turbines on their roofs to use wind power in their homes. Do you think small turbines would be enough to power your home? Why or why not?
Other kids have said:

Yea! I think it would be like so great!!! Instead of polluting the air, and causing global warming. I think this idea would be great and it will most likely be enough to power my house.

i think it would not be enough power my home because you never know when its going to run out
- Hannah - Age: 13 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

i think that's is good, use alternatife energy for your home.that's make global warming can be stopped!
- Putri - Age: 12 - From INDONESIA

Yes! I think it's a wonderful idea! Instead of puluting the air with toxins and other harmful things, use the natural resorces we have now for example: Maybe, lets say, its summer. Your hot, sweat dripping down from your face, you don't want to turn on the AC because your afraid your going to polute that air. Open a window and stand by it!! It's all the air you need!! See there is more smarter ideas to keep the earth safe. Since humans have created gasoline, the air has been poluted. Since the fresh air is poluted, the sea ice is melting and its putting polar bears down for extintion. I, myself, are a Polar Bear lover. If an animal dies out, it ruins the food chain and will eventually kill every animal on this earth.

- Alexia - Age: 10 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

I think it will because i have a friend that calls me everyday day and tells me that it works!!I am so amzed because i thought it would not work but it did.
- Rayssa - Age: 9 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

- Dexx - Age: 11 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

I think it would be great to have a wind thing at my house. Then we could make our own energy when it is windy--and it is windy at my house a lot!
