What are The KidsCom Chat Rules?
The Chat Rules help make sure all chatters can Play Smart, Stay Safe and Have Fun!

    How do I chat?
Use the Phrases button to choose what you would like to say, or you can type what you want to chat in the white box at the bottom of the page. If a word you type turns red that means it is not allowed. You won't be able to send what you want to say until you change it.

Why can't I use numbers in my chat?
To keep everyone safe, we don't let you use numbers so chatters can't give out phone numbers or addresses. You can use the Phrases button to tell other chatters how old you are.

Why did I get kicked out?
There are generally three reasons why you might get kicked off of the Chat:
    1. Breaking The Chat Rules. If you were kicked out for breaking a rule, normally, you will be allowed back on the next day. Check out the Chat Rules and be sure to follow them when you come back tomorrow.
    2. You didn't post anything for a long time. In order to be fair to everyone, if you don't post a message for a really long time, you will get logged out so someone else has a chance to enter the chat. Don't worry, you can come right back in.
I got kicked out for breaking a rule. Does that mean I can never come back?
Don't worry, you can come back to The Chat. Normally, when you are kicked out for breaking a rule, you are allowed back on the next day. If anyone continues to break the rules, we can ban you from the chat longer and will contact your parents and Internet Service Provider.

Why can't I get into the chat rooms?
Here are some of the reasons why you might not be able to get into the chat rooms:
    1. You, or someone else using your computer, were kicked off the chat for breaking the rules. To see The Chat Rules, click here.
    2. The chat didn't load right. If this is the case, try exiting your browser and starting it again. In most cases, this fixes the problem.

I wasn't even chatting! Why did I get kicked off?
In order to be fair to kids who are waiting to enter The Chat, if you don't post a message for a while, we'll log you out. Don't worry, you'll be able to come back in.

Can I talk to just one person?
Private messaging is not allowed in The Chat, so there is not a way you can do it.

    Who are the monitors?
Monitors are responsible adults and parents who are specially trained members of the KidsCom Staff. They watch The Chat to make sure everyone has fun and stays safe while chatting.

    Can I be a Monitor?
Right now, we only hire responsible adults as Chat monitors.

    Does The Chat use Cookies?
Nope! No cookies are used on The Chat. For information on cookies in other areas of KidsCom, check out our Privacy Policy.
