Welcome to the Idea Seeker Blog, a place where the Idea Seekers come to talk about their daily lives and reveal their innermost secrets.

I can't believe what happened to me yesterday. It's like the whole universe stopped making sense. I'll tell you about it:

Kimma and I were getting some supplies out of the cargo hold of the spaceship when suddenly the big cargo doors slammed shut. We were locked in!

"Hello?" I said into the intercom. "Anyone out there? Kimma and I are locked in the cargo hold!" I looked at the closed doors. I admit it - being around Kimma makes me nervous. She's so pretty, and nice, and I get all goofy when we're alone together. I guess… I think I might have a crush on her.

"Hello, anybody there?" came Dumonde's voice from the intercom.

"Dumonde!" Kimma shouted, surprised. "Spec and I are locked in the cargo hold. Can you get the doors open?"

"Looks like a computer problem," said Dumonde. "I'll fix it. Just wait a few minutes." I remember thinking, I hope he hurries. I walked over to Kimma and sat on a box next to her.

"Looks like we're stuck here." I said.

Oh, man. That sounded so lame! What is wrong with me?

"It's okay Spec, Dumonde will have the doors open soon," Kimma said. She smiled at me. I could feel my face turning red. I don't know if she could tell.

"I, um… okay… well, I'm going to look around and see if I can find a way to unlock the doors."

Why did I say that? This is my chance to talk to her!

"Well, okay," said Kimma. "Then maybe we can talk about something, okay?"

"Sh… Sh-Sure, Kimma."

Oh, man.

"I'll just look around a little bit." I walked toward the back of the cargo hold, and leaned against one of the boxes, just out of Kimma's vision. I remember talking to myself. "C'mon, Spec," I said to myself. "Don't let her make you so nervous." I was trying to talk myself into asking her out. Why did I get so nervous? Then, out of nowhere, came Confi.

"You like her, doesn't you?" came a little voice from above my head.

"Confi!" I said, looking up towards the voice. "Where did you come from?"

"Confi is always around when you need him." said the Confidence Plant Baby.

"I don't know what to do," I told him. "I think Kimma is really smart, she makes great plans and she's been really brave with her home planet under attack by the Darkness." When I sat down on the floor, Confi jumped down and perched on my knee. "I don't know why I can't just sit down and talk to her. Whenever she's around, I get all… I mean, she's so…"

"Kimma is wonderful!" said Confi, nodding his head up and down.

"I know that, Confi. I just wish I could tell her that I think so, too." We sat in silence. Then Confidence Plant Baby stood up, and did something I didn't expect.

"I'll tell her for you!" He jumped off of my knee and marched towards Kimma. "Kimma!" he shouted.

"No!" I pulled him back behind the boxes. "That's the worst thing that could happen!" I glanced over at Kimma, who was sitting on a box by the doors. She was humming to herself, and twirling her long, dark hair between her fingers.

"Oh come on, what's the worst thing that could happen?" asked Confi. "If I tell her, then she will know, and then you won't have this problem!" Confi smiled.

"But maybe she won't like me! Maybe she'll tell the others and Riley will crack jokes about it."

Maybe she won't want to be my friend anymore.

Confi reached up and shook my face. "That's silly," he said. "Kimma is wonderful! She won't stop being your friend."

"And what about Riley?"

"Riley won't even find out," said Confi. "Kimma will keep your secret."

"That's true," I said. "So what do I have to lose? I'm going to tell her! I'm going to ask her out!"

This might be my only chance!

"That's it!" said Confi. "You go tell her!" I stood up and walked over to Kimma. With each step I got more and more nervous, but I had a little boost of confidence, and that's all I needed.

"Kimma, I have something to…" I started, but just then, there was a big roaring noise. The cargo hold doors swung open! Kimma jumped up and walked over to the door, where Dumonde was standing.

"C'mon, Spec – let's go!" she shouted. I looked at Confi. Confi shrugged his shoulders.

"There's always next time!" Confi leapt down and ran out the cargo hold doors. What else could I do? I followed him, hoping that Confi was around next time I got locked in a cargo hold with Kimma.
