Every issue we’ll interview someone from the Idea Seeker Universe and ask five questions. Idea Seekers, Plant Babies, KidsCom Staff Members… and maybe even a surprise guest or two!

Meet Spec

1. We at the Sarillion Monitor can’t help but notice that triangle on your forehead. You’re the only person we’ve ever met who has one of those. What’s up with that?

I’m not the only one - my sister has one too! Everyone on my home planet has one – that’s how you can tell when someone is Machooian. Planet Machoo is a natural planet, where people live in tribes. We try to live in harmony with nature and technology. We’ve traveled to every corner of the galaxy and we never back down from a challenge. Especially Tra.

2. You and Tra are both Idea Seeker Cloud Hunters. Are you very competitive with each other?

We save our competition for the Clouds. We practice our Waba fighting together so that we’re ready for the Clouds when they appear.

Waba Fighting? What’s that?

It’s an ancient form of martial arts - people from Machoo are skilled warriors and we start learning it at a young age. But most of the training is learning about how to fight the actual Cloud, instead of the clouded person. That way nobody gets hurt.

3. You’re already a Cloud Hunter – why did you decide to become an Idea Seeker Diplomat too?

Being a Diplomat is more my style – I fight the Clouds of Chaos because I have to, because it’s the right thing to do. It’s important for all of us to learn to fight the Clouds. But I’d rather be helping people get along and making plans for peace before we have to fight. You have to identify the real issues, not just what appears to be the problem. Then you know when and what to fight.

If you don’t have an excellent plan, it can be dangerous to just lash out before you know what’s really going on. I like to make plans for all people to work together, so that we don’t have to fight.

4. So then what's your plan about asking out Kimma?

Kimma? I… Well, I think Kimma is really smart, she makes great plans and she’s been really brave with… um… you already know all of this, don’t you?

Oh yeah.

Aw geez, I knew this would happen. I’m still trying to figure it out. I mean, I think I like her and that she likes me, but sometimes… well, I can come up with great plans for other things, but not relationships!

Kimma is a great friend and an even greater person. I respect her a lot, and she’s obviously very pretty. Who knows what the future will hold?

5. It’s okay, you’re off the hot seat. Before you go, what advice can you give to people who want to become Idea Seekers, or have already started their Idea Seeker training?

Making the world a better place and fighting the Clouds of Chaos starts with trying to be obedient to the Essence – the voice inside that guides you to Good. Fighting the Clouds of Chaos is a constant struggle, but if you make good choices, it’s easy. Try to help other people in little ways, and soon you’ll find help and strength all around you, even in the places you least expect it. Give good constantly, and you’ll be taken care of.

Listen to the inner voice, the one that makes you feel at peace. Not the one that tries to push you. Knowledge is a good way to recognize when a Cloud is telling you a lie. If you pay attention, it’s easy to figure out the good thing to do.

That’s what I think, anyway.
