In the
early hours of the morning, at the end of the shopping mall if you looked
closely, you could see an elf curiously poking his head out of a canvas
shopping bag. As he identified where he was, he started to shiver. He was
scared of this new place. He thought it might be a bad dream or something and
he did not like it one little bit. "If I go back to sleep, I may wake up
with all the other elves," he thought to himself, and so, he did.
"Everybody
gather round! Someone special is here to see you all in this wonderful season
of... Christmas," The loud booming voice filled every tiny nook and cranny
you could and couldn't find.
That loud
and booming voice echoed in Elf's head, as he awoke to the extraordinary sight
of hundreds of people. Old young, small, tall, wrinkly, smooth, happy,
grumpy... the list goes on. He started shaking his head and baking further into
his uncomfortable canvas shopping bag.
"No,
no, no! Why am I still here? I need to be with Santa. He needs my help,"
the elf thought wildly.
He didn't
have a clue about what was going on. Then suddenly by magic out came Santa
Claus, to see all the good little girls and boys.
"Ho,
ho, ho... Merry Christmas!" His big voice echoed down the corridors
magically, sending a shiver down everyone's spines.
As soon as
elf saw this, he leapt out of the bag and jumped into Santa's lap. Santa saw
the elf and laughed his big bouncy laugh and hugged the happy little elf.
"I
wondered where you had gotten to," Santa laughed.
After helping
Santa gather all the wish lists, the elf went with Santa happily back to the
North Pole where his story was told for many generations to come.
