We asked, and you answered! Here are the results from last week's poll questions.
Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFL) fit into any light fixture like regular bulbs. They last much longer and use less energy. But, the price of CFL bulbs is higher than regular bulbs. Do you think newly built buildings should be required to use CFL bulbs?
Yes - CFL bulbs last longer and use less energy - 86%
No - CFL bulbs are more expensive - 6%
Maybe - Speak out! - 6%
Speak out about this week's question!
I think CFL should be used in newly built buildings because they need more energy for other materials in the building. CFL are also good to put in buildings because it last longer, and you don't have to replace them as often. That's why I think the new buildings should use CFL.

No because some companies (buildings) can't afford it.

Yes because in the long run CFL bulbs will cost less because you are saving energy and they last longer which saves you money on electricity and having to buy new ones sooner.
Harli, 13, United States
Maybe. I believe that every company has a right to choose which kinds of bulbs to use. Some companies might want the cheaper kind. Some might want the better quality kind. It is not our right to tell them to buy something that they don't want.

I'm not sure. CFL bulbs cost a lot of money and probably a lot of money was spent on building the building.
