As quick as lightening she told Kimma her idea and gave her a picture to show her parents. Kimma ran to her parents that very moment and told them not to bring food to her party but to bring it to HAITI, where it was need much more. She showed them a picture of HAITI with the damage the earthquake had done.

Katie - 10 - UNITED KINGDOM
It was a beautiful Saturday morning and also a great day for Lucy. It was her fourteenth birthday and a step closer to being an adult. She was so excited. She yawned as she trundled down the stairs. There lying on the table was a pile of birthday cards and a whole lot of presents. This was the perfect birthday. The only thing that was missing was her best friend Mary. She had moved to Scotland because her dad accepted a job there and Lucy missed her so. That's why Lucy went to a chartroom everyday to talk to each other. After Lucy had put on her new scarf and jeans, she grabbed her flower bag and stuffed her purse in. She ran out the door.
"Bye Dad," She shouted, but she didn't wait for an answer.
She wandered down the street humming along to her iPod as she went. As she slid her way into the chat room, she used the usual computer and logged on to her user. Mary wasn't online. "Hmm, I wonder where she is?" Lucy thought, but stayed there for another fifteen minutes; still nothing. Lucy was really disappointed. "She must be ill or something," Lucy thought. She logged off and grabbed her bag. She checked her phone; no messages. So in the end she just gave up. Lucy glumly walked down the street.
Lucy arrived home and put her bag on the floor. She found her dad in the living room, so she sat beside him and had a big cuddle.
"What's wrong sweetie?"
"Oh nothing, just Mary wasn't online today."
"Sweetie don't worry, she might be on tomorrow." He cuddled her close and kissed her head.
"I love you so much dad."
"I love you too."
The phone started ringing. Lucy got up and got it, it was Jane her friend from school. Lucy wandered into the living room and sat on the sofa, she chatted to Jane for a long time. There was a sudden knock on the door.
"I'll get that," her dad said. He opened the door and took the visitors into the kitchen. What Lucy didn't know was that they were doing her surprise party. Her dad walked out and joined Lucy in the living room. Lucy put down the phone and picked up her bag.
"I'm going back to the chat room," she told her dad.
She made sure she had everything and wandered out the door. She strolled along the streets to the chat room. She wandered to her usual computer, but in that very seat sat someone else.
"Excuse me, this is my computer." The person in the chair turned around and smiled. "Mary!" Lucy screamed, they hugged and hugged.
Then Mary put her hand in her pocket and pulled out a birthday card. It was glittering and shiny. Lucy opened it and smiled. Inside were two moving paper dolls. Lucy put in her bag and linked arm in arm with Mary to walk home. Then when they reached home inside was a great surprise birthday party.
As Mary and Lucy gobbled down cake Lucy said, "This is the best day ever!"
