Animal Adventure Comment of the Week

Monita Rail - Age 10 - From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

we should be helpful to the environment. All because animals are the same as you and i and we would not like to be forced out of our homeland so why should they. Like the bible says -Treat thy neighbors like thy self- and that's what we should do. So you don't have to agree but im doing what i think is right.

Team Animal Fact of the Week

Ailia Wing - Age 9 - Team Pink Tiger - From AUSTRALIA

The tiger is mainly hunted for its fur. I'd save it by not littering because it gets into the tigers natural habitat. I'd save it also by giving it a home and not buying animal related products.

The story continues from this beginning:

The members of [YOUR TEAM HERE] are hard at work helping Spec build a solar car! But one member of the team makes a mistake and accidentally damages one of the car's solar panels. Spec gets frustrated and begins yelling! "Argh, you guys are so stupid! You're no help!" It was only an accident, but Angry Cloud has gotten to Spec and made him mad! Could a Confidence Plant Baby help Spec realize that the car's not ruined? Can Team [YOUR TEAM HERE] save the day? Write the rest of the story.

Today my team, Team Red Bird, tried to help Spec build a solar car. It was really fun at first. We were all working together, hard at work, joking around. We were really getting to know each other, but at the same time helping the environment! But something went wrong. Of course, clumsy ol' me stumbled backwards into one of the solar panels on the car which caused it to crack. Everyone was silent for a minute. I was so embarrassed! Spec came over to the solar panel I had cracked and inspected it. That was when he completely blew a fuse. "Argh, you guys are so stupid! I don't know why I let you do this!" He yelled. "It was an accident!" I said, trying to reason with him. It was too late. An Angry Cloud got to Spec and made him furious! He was storming around, ranting on and on about how clumsy and stupid we were. Finally our team leader gathered us together. "Okay team, we all know how to cure cloud sickness, right?" she asked us. Most of us nodded our heads. "Okay, good. Now, heres the plan......." We all huddled in a circle, forming our plan. "Does everyone have their Confidence Plant Babies?" our team leader asked us? "Yeah!" We answered. "Lets go team!" And we went off to find Spec

We wondered for a while, walking almost in circles trying to find him. We finally found him by a pond, splashing the water and muttering mean things about our team. "Oh, Spec!" one of the team members said in a sing-song voice. "What do you all want?" He yelled. "We're here to cure you." I said hesitantly. "You see, Angry Cloud got to you and--" Spec interrupted me. "I'm fine. I don't need no cure. It was your fault, anyway." he said loudly. I looked down. "Well, if you could just let us...." another team member tried. "No!" Spec ran away. "Wow, that Angry Cloud has really got him," our team leader said.

We finally cornered Spec in the town. After a long while of reasoning, Spec finally said, "Okay, fine. Just leave me alone." So our Confidence Plant Babies cured him. Spec blinked. "Wow. I said some mean things about you guys." he said, looking down at the ground. "It's no problem. That Angry Cloud got you," I shrugged. "No. I want to make it up to you guys," he said determinedly. "How?" our team leader asked. "How about....." Spec thought for a while. Then his face lit up. "How about you guys don't have to fix the solar panel you broke, I'll do it myself!" "We could never ask you to do that!" one of the team members said. "Yeah, we'll help you either way!" someone else called. Spec smiled. "Thanks you guys, you're the best! But I'm still going to make it up to you somehow...."

So after some more hard work, the car was up and running! We all laughed and joked around the whole time, but we were careful not to break another solar panel. Oh, and do you want to know how Spec apologized? He painted a beautiful red bird on the side of the car for our team. We had such fun working on the solar car that we might go back and make another!

Siena - 12 - AUSTRALIA

Far away in the land of the one and only Recycling Company, a little angel nibbled away at some fairy cakes that her great, great Grand Papa had made for her afternoon tea. Meanwhile, a volunteer was busy picking up paper and rubbish as today was "Clean Up The World Day"! The little angel heard the news about it, but could not be bothered in helping.

A short while later, a group of elders walked past with some bags and thick rubber gloves and asked the little angel why she wasn't helping. The elders told her that this day only comes once a year, and if we don't help now the little angel's children and their children will be waist high in rubbish. So, from that day on, the little angel helped and participated in "Clean Up The World Day". Not only did she do it once a year, but also she picked up paper and rubbish all year.
